Peggy Kennedy
1993 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient
Dr Margaret Kennedy was not only a very gifted costumer, she had an amazingly organized and analytical mind. She deserves credit as the first person to tackle and figure out classifying costume entries by their experience level, into what is now a standard in almost all of fandom, the Division System. First used internationally at the Denver Worldcon in 1981. Peggy was also the first to attempt compiling all the different things that go into running a successful masquerade. Her book, The Kennedy Compendium, made this information available to all and helped establish some standardization.
Peggy passed away in December 2000.
