Adding my own remarks here, as Board rep:

While recognizing that all parties involved have the best interests of the Guild in mind, the lack of courtesy that has been on display recently has left something to be desired, to put it mildly.   As a result of a combination of honest mistakes, jumping to conclusions, misunderstandings, accusations and defensiveness, the state of leadership is in disarray.   The acrimony has cost us a President, the eventual loss of the VP, an unprecedented election crisis and three potential new chapters.  The ICG has been fighting a bad PR image for years - the recent public airing of grievances has made it much worse.   How is that in the ICG's best interests?    If the ICG is supposed to function as a corporation, the Board and officers need to conduct themselves appropriately.

Forwarded from Mera - from Blue Ridge Costuming Soceity

Hey Mera - since you’re stuck until they find someone else we thought you might be able to send this to who needs it.

We are sorry to hear that you left and appreciate the apology.  We’ll make sure our members know.  Mera also said that someone named Sarah from your Maryland group that objected had apologized also.  Please let her know we appreciate that too.  It sounds like a big misunderstanding, but we don’t want to get any more involved in that at this time.  It looks like our groups “chapters” are going to join up here to do costuming stuff together at the sister Cons anyway, more as one big group than 3 little groups which is kind of what we do here already.  Members of the ICG will always be welcome but it’s probably best if we just enjoy each other’s company as Costumers and Cosplayers instead of trying to force some sort of structure under y’all’s organization.

As we say down here, let’s leave the drama on the stage.

Best wishes.
