On Friday evening at Costume-Con 37 in Danvers Massachusetts, ICG President Marianne Pease presented the 2019 ICG Lifetime Achievement Award to Carol Salemi.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor that the International Costumers’ Guild pays, recognizing a body of achievement in the costuming art, and service to the costuming community.
Carol has been involved with conventions since 1980. She has judged masquerade competitions at several Worldcons and Costume-Cons. In addition, she was the Arisia masquerade director for six years and started the tradition of presenting the winner of “Best in Class, Novice” with a membership to Costume-Con. She was also the Costume-Con 18 historical masquerade director.
Carol competes on a regular basis in sci-fi/fantasy and historical masquerades, both solo and in groups. Several of her costumes appear in the book The Costume Makers Art. She has also been Costumer Guest of Honor at Balticon.
Please join the ICG in congratulating Carol Salemi on her recognition as the 2019 ICG Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
