I
am working on how we may be able to use the polling features of Zoom to handle
voting as a possible solution for holding our annual meeting as a virtual
(online) event. I was asked to share that info for the sake of other
groups in similar situations.
The basic instructions on the polling feature is here:
https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/213756303-Polling-for-Meetings
Note
that it is not currently available to free accounts. That is less
dire than it sounds at first; only the meeting host must have a licensed (paid)
account. There are also a number of fan groups with such accounts willing to
occasionally host meetings for other groups.

Update: I did some deeper diving into the
license and polling questions via the SFSFC host account:
I dug deeper into the SFSFC account and pricing
to find this.
The standard host license allows for meeting of
up to 100 participants. You may add webinar or large
meeting licensing to that standard host license.
A webinar has N active participants (panelists) plus 10000+ view-only
attendees.
·
Registration
and approval can be setup for those attendees.
·
Attendees
ARE able to respond to polls, and to ask questions via the meeting interface.
·
The
host may elect to unmute an attendee's mic to participate via audio.
A webinar license with up to 100 panelists adds
$40/month.
Large meetings have 500-1000
active participants.
A 500-member large meeting is $50/month add-on, 1000-member $90.
